A NEW DIMENSION IN WELDING: LOW SPATTER CONTROL

DIP TRANSFER ARC PROCESS: EXTREMELY LOW-SPATTER AND STABLE

With the LSC process, Fronius has developed a modified dip transfer arc with extremely high arc stability. The user can achieve high-quality weld seams with minimal spattering and an increased deposition rate, as the LSC principle is based on the short circuit occurring at a low current level. This leads to soft reignition and a stable welding process; a significant contrast to the standard dip transfer arc. Control over the arc has been improved significantly thanks to the development of the TPS/i power source platform. The TPS/i recognises the process phases occurring during the short circuit extremely quickly and reacts to them. The user can therefore achieve outstanding results in conjunction with the new stabilizers.

PENETRATION STABILIZER

An additional wire control keeps the current and penetration constant if the distance between the welding torch and the component changes. The arc becomes significantly more stable and the penetration is much more constant. On standard MIG/MAG devices without a penetration stabilizer, the welding current, and thereby the welding power, drops if the distance changes. If the penetration is insufficient, there may be a lack of fusion. If the penetration is too great, the weld seam may drop through on thin sheets, as the welding current increases.
